2021 Annual Conferences

February 2021 Announcement

The 2021 Annual Conferences will be Virtual Conferences in June

By Faith continues to be the theme God sustains us with for 2021 as we prepare for our annual conferences.  Our scripture focus continues in Hebrews with chapter 12:

1Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him, he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

The Annual Conference planning teams for both the Memphis and the Tennessee conferences met together via Zoom in January.

The decision was made to hold each of our 2021 Annual Conferences virtually in June. GNTV will again serve as the production company for both conferences. Online training sessions for voting clergy and lay members/delegates will be scheduled in the days before each annual conference.

The 2021 Memphis Annual Conference will be on Thursday and Friday, June 3 and 4.

The 2021 Tennessee Annual Conference will be on Thursday and Friday, June 10 and 11.

The current plan is for online Clergy Sessions to be held on the Thursday morning of each conference.

The Service of Licensing, Commissioning, and Ordination will be hosted for the candidates of both the Tennessee and Memphis conferences on Saturday, June 19. It will be broadcast via live stream from West End UMC in Nashville. Similar to last year, attendance for this worship service will be limited to the service participants, the candidates, and the candidates’ guests.  Candidates will be notified when the number of guests allowed has been determined.

More specific information and voting codes will be sent directly to clergy and voting laity via email in the spring. If you were elected during your church charge conference to serve at the annual conference, or to serve as an alternate, please make sure your district administrator has up-to-date contact information for you.

In the meantime, if you have specific questions, please contact the annual conference planning team leader for your conference:
