Dios bendice a los de coraz\u00f3n puro, porque ellos ver\u00e1n a Dios. - <\/em>Mateo 5:8 <\/p>\n\n\n\nComo muchos de ustedes saben, perd\u00ed a mis padres en el \u00faltimo a\u00f1o. Mi padre el pasado noviembre y mi madre el pasado junio. Ellos me ense\u00f1aron mucho y bendijeron mi vida de innumerables maneras. Uno de esos aprendizajes fue sobre diezmar y ser un dador generoso. Es por eso que me he convertido en uno que anualmente da 15 a 20% de mis ingresos a la iglesia local u otras causas del ministerio. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Varias semanas antes de que mi padre muriera, volvi\u00f3 a contar la historia de su viaje y el de mi madre diezmando. Lo hicieron el primer d\u00eda de su matrimonio. El primer 10% fue a la iglesia local donde pasaron toda su vida, Fountain City United Methodist Church en Knoxville, Tennessee. Aqu\u00ed es donde pas\u00e9 mis primeros 21 a\u00f1os antes de tomar mi primera posici\u00f3n en el ministerio trabajando con j\u00f3venes en una iglesia al otro lado de la ciudad. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
El primer trabajo de mi padre fue para mi abuelo en su tienda de repuestos. Esto fue antes de todos los lugares de piezas que tenemos hoy en d\u00eda en todo el pa\u00eds. Mi madre se qued\u00f3 en casa y cuid\u00f3 de mi hermana y de m\u00ed hasta que empezamos la escuela primaria. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
A principios de los a\u00f1os sesenta, mi padre cobraba $87 a la semana. Cada domingo, mis padres depositaban $8,70 en el plato de la ofrenda. Si faltaban un domingo, uno de ellos llevaba la ofrenda a la iglesia durante la semana. Por razones que desconozco, su sueldo se redujo durante un tiempo a $76 por semana. Supongo que se debi\u00f3 a un descenso del negocio o al aumento de los costes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mi padre le dijo a mi madre que ten\u00edan que reducir el diezmo, a lo que ella respondi\u00f3: \"\u00a1No!\". Ella dijo: \"Nos comprometimos a dar esa cantidad cada semana, y tenemos que continuar\". Eso fue lo que hicieron. Pap\u00e1 dijo que nunca nos falt\u00f3 el dinero. Era incre\u00edble las otras oportunidades que surgieron para ganar o dar dinero. Mi pap\u00e1 tambi\u00e9n oficiaba partidos de b\u00e9isbol y baloncesto. Adem\u00e1s, pap\u00e1 a menudo trabajaba de noche en el Auditorio C\u00edvico de Knoxville, donde conoci\u00f3 a mucha gente como Dolly Parton, Elvis Presley y The Impressions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mis padres fueron los primeros en decirme: \"No puedes superar a Dios\". \u00bfEl dinero extra que ganaba mi padre? S\u00ed, 10% iba a la iglesia. No s\u00f3lo diezmaban, sino que daban generosamente. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Por eso me cuesta entender por qu\u00e9 la gente de las iglesias no diezma. A\u00fan m\u00e1s, \u00bfpor qu\u00e9 las iglesias no dan 10% a sus prorrateos de compromiso de conexi\u00f3n? Qu\u00e9 bendici\u00f3n nos perdemos todos cuando no diezmamos. El 21 de septiembre, predicar\u00e9 en el 200th<\/sup> celebraci\u00f3n del a\u00f1o de mi iglesia en Knoxville. Durante 200 a\u00f1os, siempre han pagado 100% de su parte justa a los ministerios de conexi\u00f3n. <\/p>\n\n\n\nPru\u00e9belo; \u00a1la bendici\u00f3n es real! Si no me cree, \u00bfpor qu\u00e9 no empieza hoy mismo a acercarse al diezmo 10%? <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Iglesias, la mejor manera de cumplir su compromiso de conexi\u00f3n es pagar 10% de lo que recibe cada semana, y as\u00ed nunca se quedar\u00e1 atr\u00e1s. <\/strong>No se trata de quedarse atr\u00e1s, sino de ser bendecido m\u00e1s de lo que podr\u00edas pensar o imaginar. <\/p>\n\n\n\nEsto es lo que aprend\u00ed de mis padres hace muchos a\u00f1os, y es una de las mejores lecciones y ejemplos que jam\u00e1s me podr\u00edan haber dado. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
