Mayo de 2026 \u2013 Tras a\u00f1os de reconstrucci\u00f3n, la Primera Iglesia Metodista Unida de Dresde alcanzar\u00e1 un hito muy esperado el domingo 7 de junio, cuando la congregaci\u00f3n se re\u00fana para inaugurar su nuevo santuario en una celebraci\u00f3n de la resiliencia, la fe y la esperanza.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La iglesia qued\u00f3 destruida tras el tornado de diciembre de 2021 que devast\u00f3 zonas del oeste de Tennessee y del oeste de Kentucky. Tras la tormenta, la congregaci\u00f3n celebr\u00f3 sus cultos en la Iglesia Metodista Unida de Pisgah, como parte de una comunidad de dos puntos, mientras se iniciaban los trabajos de reconstrucci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El serm\u00f3n del reverendo Varden, titulado \u201cCreados para pertenecer\u201d, se centrar\u00e1 en Efesios 2:19-22 y en la idea de que un santuario es \u201cm\u00e1s que madera, piedra y vidrio\u201d, sino un testimonio de que Dios est\u00e1 construyendo \u201cun lugar de morada para la gracia, la adoraci\u00f3n y la acogida\u201d.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Poco despu\u00e9s de la destrucci\u00f3n de la iglesia, los feligreses descubrieron una caja de la piedra angular que hab\u00eda colocado un comit\u00e9 de administradores anterior durante una reconstrucci\u00f3n anterior. Los objetos recuperados de la caja se exhiben ahora con mucho cari\u00f1o en el n\u00e1rtex del nuevo santuario, uniendo el pasado de la congregaci\u00f3n con este nuevo cap\u00edtulo de su ministerio. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
