class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">WASHINGTON, D.C. \u2013 El Consejo de Obispos de la Iglesia Metodista Unida es plenamente consciente de la reciente decisi\u00f3n del Tribunal Supremo de los Estados Unidos de denegar la protecci\u00f3n a la Secci\u00f3n Dos de la Ley de Derechos Electorales, y se muestra profundamente preocupado al respecto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nos sumamos en solidaridad y oraci\u00f3n a las declaraciones y al liderazgo ofrecidos por la Junta General de Iglesia y Sociedad y por el obispo Jonathan Holston.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Esta decisi\u00f3n tiene graves consecuencias para la protecci\u00f3n del derecho al voto y la plena participaci\u00f3n pol\u00edtica de las comunidades negras, latinas e ind\u00edgenas en diversas regiones de los Estados Unidos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Agradecemos el testimonio claro, exhaustivo y apremiante que ofrece \u00abIglesia y Sociedad\u00bb en su reciente art\u00edculo,&nbsp;<em>\u201cLa Corte Suprema de los Estados Unidos rechaza la protecci\u00f3n del art\u00edculo segundo de la Ley de Derechos Electorales\u201d,\u201d<\/em>y para el mensaje pastoral del obispo Jonathan Holston de la Conferencia del Norte de Alabama,&nbsp;<em>\u201cParticipaci\u00f3n ciudadana y voto\u201d.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Animamos a los pastores, las congregaciones y los l\u00edderes a que:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Lee el art\u00edculo de \u00abIglesia y Sociedad\u00bb:\u00a0<a una cuesti\u00f3n de conciencia cristiana y una muestra de amor al pr\u00f3jimo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Damos gracias por el testimonio constante de nuestros l\u00edderes
