Monroe"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Por qu\u00e9 soy metodista unido...<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tengo la suerte de haber crecido en un hogar clerical. Aunque t\u00e9cnicamente soy hijo de un predicador, mi padre trabajaba para la denominaci\u00f3n. Cuando yo nac\u00ed, \u00e9l formaba parte del personal de la Conferencia en Virginia y, cuando yo ten\u00eda tres a\u00f1os, se incorpor\u00f3 al Consejo de Educaci\u00f3n en Nashville (el predecesor del actual Consejo de Discipulado). Desde muy peque\u00f1o aprend\u00ed que la palabra \"iglesia\" ten\u00eda diferentes significados. Significaba los edificios de Ginter Park en Richmond o Calvary en Nashville, significaba la gente de la congregaci\u00f3n, pero tambi\u00e9n significaba La Iglesia Metodista en todo el mundo.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Crec\u00ed bajo el paraguas de la denominaci\u00f3n conocida como el pueblo llamado Metodista. \u00c9ramos diversos y extravagantes; luch\u00e1bamos y crec\u00edamos; \u00e9ramos serios y celebr\u00e1bamos. Las congregaciones ten\u00edan su propia identidad, pero nos manten\u00eda unidos nuestra herencia wesleyana que creaba el pegamento de la Gracia. Las iglesias pod\u00edan tener un aspecto diferente por fuera y por dentro, pero se \"sent\u00edan\" igual. Cuando era joven, experiment\u00e9 el servicio y la misi\u00f3n como voluntaria pintando el edificio original del Centro Bethlehem; limpiando maleza en el Campamento Dogwood; organizando fiestas de cumplea\u00f1os para chicos encarcelados en el Centro Juvenil Spencer; dirigiendo actividades recreativas los s\u00e1bados por la ma\u00f1ana con TNT (ni\u00f1os con necesidades especiales que se convirtieron en adolescentes y veintea\u00f1eros); y viajes con el Proyecto de Servicio de los Apalaches. Experiment\u00e9 la diversidad de congregaciones asoci\u00e1ndome con Edgehill y Sixty-First Avenue. Reconoc\u00ed la gran amplitud del amor de Dios por la gente en las personas que trabajaban en la Junta y en las congregaciones donde celebr\u00e9 mis cultos.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Creo que la amplitud de la naturaleza de Dios sigue estando a nuestra disposici\u00f3n. Dios no ha estrechado su capacidad de amarnos, la humanidad ha intentado dirigir el amor de Dios para que encaje en alg\u00fan tipo de modelo claramente definido que les haga sentirse seguros. Dios es m\u00e1s grande que eso. Conf\u00edo en que Dios har\u00e1 un camino, incluso cuando no parece haber un camino en este momento.
