Empec\u00e9 siendo presbiteriana y m\u00e1s tarde me pas\u00e9 a la episcopal.  No fue hasta que mis padres encontraron a unos grandes amigos de un barrio en el que viv\u00edamos en Texas que hicieron la transici\u00f3n a la Metodista Unida. Al principio yo era adolescente y permanec\u00ed episcopal durante una temporada antes de abandonar la iglesia por completo.  Me gustar\u00eda decir que estaba haciendo lo correcto, pero entonces tendr\u00eda que dar otro testimonio.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nosotros, como familia, con el tiempo se traslad\u00f3 de nuevo al centro de Tennessee, que es el hogar para nosotros y despu\u00e9s de una corta estancia en Brentwood, se estableci\u00f3 en Hendersonville. Yo estaba trabajando al por menor a tiempo completo en la formaci\u00f3n de gesti\u00f3n y todav\u00eda no realmente involucrados en la iglesia, pero las pocas veces que iba o participar fue con el ministerio estudiantil.  En First UMC Hendersonville me enamore perdidamente de una chica que sigue siendo mi esposa desde hace 28 a\u00f1os. Robin tambi\u00e9n trabaja para la Iglesia Metodista Unida como Administradora del Distrito del R\u00edo Cumberland. Tenemos tres hijos que crecieron en la iglesia.  Nos casamos en la Primera Iglesia Metodista Unida de Hendersonville un martes porque mi trabajo en una tienda me trasladaba a Louisville, Kentucky.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fuimos a una iglesia metodista unida en Kentucky y con todo <\/span><b><i>15<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Siempre he encontrado una iglesia metodista unida a la que acudir. Parece que soy el que m\u00e1s lucha debido a mi horario de trabajo y a algunos problemas de adicci\u00f3n. Sin embargo, fue en la UMC donde encontr\u00e9 mi recuperaci\u00f3n.   Fue tambi\u00e9n en un \"Momento Moribundo\" en la caminata 109, Caminata a Ema\u00fas en Hermitage UMC donde supe que Dios me llamaba al ministerio. No se hizo realidad hasta a\u00f1os m\u00e1s tarde, pero fue a trav\u00e9s de la Iglesia Metodista Unida.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fue en la Iglesia Metodista Unida Berkmar en Atlanta, GA bajo el Rev. James Gwin donde di mi primer salto de fe en el ministerio como ministro estudiante y finalmente fuera de la venta al por menor.  Fue la Iglesia Metodista Unida la que confirm\u00f3 mi llamada cuando dijeron \"S\u00cd\" a que fuera miembro asociado hace s\u00f3lo dos a\u00f1os.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Entonces, \u00bfpor qu\u00e9 sigo siendo Metodista Unida?  Podr\u00eda decir que es por el amor a la doctrina de la gracia de John Wesley o podr\u00eda decir que es por la teolog\u00eda de los sacramentos, pero para ser honesto... sigo siendo Metodista Unido porque es donde encontr\u00e9 a Cristo y donde encontr\u00e9 mi vocaci\u00f3n.  Es donde puedo vivir y hacer lo \u00fanico que amo, ver las vidas de las personas transformadas, una persona, una comunidad a la vez.  No me imagino haciendo esto en otro lugar que no sea la Iglesia Metodista Unida.<\/span><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I was not brought up in the United Methodist tradition.
