{"id":9893,"date":"2023-01-17T11:34:58","date_gmt":"2023-01-17T17:34:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/twkumc.org\/?p=9893"},"modified":"2025-12-10T09:23:46","modified_gmt":"2025-12-10T15:23:46","slug":"staying-in-the-umc-michael-lorance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/twkumc.org\/es\/news\/staying-in-the-umc-michael-lorance\/","title":{"rendered":"Permanecer en la UMC | Michael Lorance"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cuando ten\u00eda unos seis a\u00f1os (1954), recib\u00ed un billete de dos d\u00f3lares y una foto de Jes\u00fas por tener buena asistencia en la Escuela Dominical de la Iglesia Metodista de Centertown.  Recuerdo que pens\u00e9 en lo contenta que estaba de ver por fin el aspecto de Jes\u00fas.  Tambi\u00e9n recuerdo haber observado a los adultos durante el culto en ese tiempo y maravillarme de lo compenetrados que estaban.  Era obvio <\/span><b>Dios estaba en la casa.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">En 1964, once de nosotros, adolescentes, respondimos al llamado al altar, fuimos bautizados y nos unimos a la Iglesia Metodista de Centertown.  Era bastante obvio que<\/span><b> Dios estaba en la casa<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">En agosto de 1971 me cas\u00e9 con mi novia de la infancia, Joanna, a quien conoc\u00ed por primera vez en la Iglesia Metodista de Centertown cuando ella estaba en tercer grado (ella fue una de las 11 adolescentes bautizadas y se uni\u00f3 a la iglesia cuando yo lo hice) y ahora nos casamos en la Iglesia Metodista Unida de Centertown, donde ambos \u00e9ramos miembros.\u00a0 <\/span><b>Dios estaba seguramente en la casa<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">En 1989, despu\u00e9s de vivir fuera durante 22 a\u00f1os, regresamos al condado de Warren (con 2 hijos) e inmediatamente reanudamos el culto en la Iglesia Metodista Unida de Centertown.  Para sorpresa de nadie, <\/span><b>Dios todav\u00eda estaba en la casa<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Y aqu\u00ed estamos en 2023 todav\u00eda adorando en la Iglesia Metodista Unida de Centertown, habiendo visto a nuestra hija casarse all\u00ed y ahora adorando con su familia que incluye a nuestras dos nietas.  Cuando miro alrededor del santuario, como lo hago a menudo durante el culto el domingo por la ma\u00f1ana, es bastante obvio para m\u00ed que <\/span><b>Dios sigue en casa<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.  Como familia de la iglesia (las personas de la iglesia que hacen que sea una iglesia), \u00a1estamos conectados!  Como una luz en la colina y un faro en la comunidad, \u00a1estamos conectados!  Como denominaci\u00f3n, \u00a1estamos conectados! No importa el color, no importa el origen, no importa la preferencia personal, \u00a1estamos conectados y somos bienvenidos en la Iglesia Metodista Unida de Centertown!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Todo esto es para decir que puedo encontrarme con Dios en cualquier momento de mi elecci\u00f3n en la Iglesia Metodista Unida de Centertown, como lo he hecho durante toda mi vida y contin\u00fao haci\u00e9ndolo.  Era lo mismo en 1954, era lo mismo en 1968, es lo mismo hoy, \u00a1y ser\u00e1 lo mismo en el futuro! \u00a1Somos una mesa abierta!  \u00bfPor qu\u00e9 querr\u00eda ser otra cosa o estar en otro sitio?\u00a0 <\/span><b>Dios sigue en casa<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a1!
