Bailey"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El Salmo 59:10 dice: \"Mi Dios en su misericordia me saldr\u00e1 al encuentro\".  Un escritor an\u00f3nimo hab\u00eda escrito en el margen de una Biblia, junto al 59:10, su par\u00e1frasis de ese vers\u00edculo: \"Mi Dios misericordioso en su amorosa bondad me saldr\u00e1 al encuentro en cada esquina\".   Esta vieja cita ha sido utilizada por muchos predicadores.   La Iglesia Metodista Unida ha sido la tienda donde he vivido mi vida y he doblado muchas esquinas.  Y cuando mi iglesia dobla una esquina, yo tambi\u00e9n doblo.  La gracia de Dios ha salido a nuestro encuentro en las curvas pasadas y saldr\u00e1 a nuestro encuentro ahora.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fui bautizado hace 67 a\u00f1os en la Iglesia Metodista Unida de Guntown, en Guntown, Mississippi, pastoreada por mi difunto padre, el Rev. Dr. William P. Bailey, Jr.  Mi abuelo, el Rev. William P. Bailey, Sr., me inici\u00f3 en la fe y en la Iglesia Metodista cuando sumergi\u00f3 su mano en las aguas bautismales.  Mi difunta madre, Sarah Doris Ford Bailey, pas\u00f3 sus primeros a\u00f1os de vida en la Iglesia Metodista Unida de Brownfield, Brownfield, Mississippi y m\u00e1s tarde residi\u00f3 en muchas casas pastorales dentro de nuestro hermoso sistema de itinerancia.  Yo tambi\u00e9n compromet\u00ed mi vida con nuestra iglesia e itinerancia, as\u00ed como mi hermano y mi hermana, y ahora un sobrino.  Mi familia y yo nunca abandonaremos una iglesia que nunca nos ha abandonado.  Cada esquina que hemos doblado ha estado llena de la presencia de Dios.  La iglesia que conozco y amo acoge a todos los hijos de Dios, sin excepci\u00f3n.  Desde mi abuelo predicando contra la intolerancia en el Mississippi de 1950, hasta la actividad de mi padre durante la lucha por los derechos civiles en 1968, pasando por ser uno de los principales redactores de nuestros Principios Sociales, o por fomentar el nombramiento de mujeres en el clero cuando sirvi\u00f3 como Superintendente de Distrito:  La Iglesia Metodista Unida ha defendido una mesa interminable en la que todos son bienvenidos, no s\u00f3lo unos pocos elegidos.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La Iglesia Metodista Unida est\u00e1 doblando una nueva esquina.
