You are invited to join us on Friday, February 17th at 5:30 pm for “A Time to Mourn,” an event hosted by the Center for Faith and Imagination at MTS. The event will be held in the Community Room of the Church Health Center, located in Crosstown Concourse.

CFI Director Martha Lyle Ford says, “When our friend Rev. Dr. Autura Eason-Williams was murdered in July, we at CFI determined that a service we could offer to help and support our colleagues in ministry was to facilitate grief groups, small covenant groups focusing on processing our individual and collective grief through several lenses: justice, violence, poverty, the loss of a colleague and friend. Since then–acknowledging the ongoing despair and grief around COVID-19, the political climate, and the violence in our city–we have continued to discern the need for a time and place for ministers and ministry professionals to express their individual and collective grief and lament.”

At “A Time to Mourn,” we invite clergy and ministry professionals to join us for a time to name and share our collective and individual grief in a time of lament and community support. There will be prayer, music, art, ritual candle-lighting, and more.

More information is available on the attached flyer. You are also more than welcome to email mlford@memphisseminary.edu with any questions prior to the event.
