Primary Function and Scope of Position: The Church Business Administrator is responsible for maintaining the financial records, membership information, and human resource records of Peace Tree UMC. The position will also work with various church teams and staff members in the overall care, management, and scheduling of building facilities and assets. This is a part time position (24 hours per week – nominally four days per week) and reports directly to the Lead Pastor and the Staff Parish Relations Committee. Attendance at committee meetings in off hours may be required (typically one evening per month).

Key Job Responsibilities:
•Maintain and follow the church financial record-keeping practices and policies as directed by the Finance Team
•Maintain routine business records and transactions including contributions, payroll, reimbursements, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
•Maintain human resource records
•Assist and advise various church teams including the Leadership Team and Finance Team
•Attend and participate in staff meetings and other meetings as required
•Maintain effective communication with church staff, volunteers, and visitors
•Oversee daily operations of the facility and maintenance schedule
•Maintain an inventory of church assets
•In conjunction with the church staff, manage the schedule of events and facility usage by church members and outside parties. Monitor facility usage to ensure compliance with policies and procedures including safety and security.
•Maintain records for Safe Sanctuary training and required background checks, ensuring security and confidentiality of records
•Practice diligence in adhering to Peace Tree UMC’s Safe Sanctuary Policy at all times.
•Other administrative tasks as required by the Lead Pastor or Staff Parish Relations Committee

Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting, OR equivalent experience
•Excellent computer skills including demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office software including Excel, Word, and Teams
•Experience and proficiency in Quick Books Online or other equivalent financial accounting and bookkeeping software
•Must submit to background check and undergo Safe Sanctuary training upon hiring
