This position is responsible for all operational aspects of the organization in serving its mission of enhancing the quality of life for all seniors served by Wesley Living. The organization provides the coordination and delivery of social services to the 2,200 senior residents of the 31 affordable housing independent living retirement communities across Shelby County, west Tennessee, eastern Arkansas and Kentucky managed by Wesley Living.
Duties include:
∙ Financial, accounting, and budgetary oversight of the organization including a working knowledge of QuickBooks Online.
∙ Coordinating the collection of donated daily use items (paper goods, cleaning supplies and personal care items) and delivery to the communities while working as a liaison to volunteer resources including the Key Women’s groups of the United Methodist Church.
∙ Maintaining the storage room and record keeping of donated items. ∙ Serve as a liaison with the United Methodist Church.
∙ Working with Wesley Living onsite staff to provide funding for social activities for the senior residents including the review, approval and management of Resident Assistance and Community Activities requests.
∙ Coordinating the preparation and delivery of Move-In Kits for homeless seniors joining the communities.
∙ Coordinate special programs and events, including the annual golf tournament. ∙ Contributions to communications such as the “Year in Review” report, operational section of website, newsletters, social media platforms and maintenance of donor databases.
∙ Donor mailings and correspondence (mid-year letter, Christmas, golf tournament and others; as appropriate)
∙ Maintenance of Corporation’s Policies and Procedures, official records and documents to ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations. ∙ Preparation of communications to the Board of Trustees and others associated with the organization including preparation of board packets for the bi-monthly board meetings.
Qualifications:
∙ Passion for serving the elderly community
∙ QuickBooks experience preferred
∙ Nonprofit experience is a plus
∙ Experience in working in business administration and with boards, committees and agencies
