Qualifications Required:
- Must have a personal and spiritual calling for service in God’s church
- Must be a professing member of a Christian church
- Demonstrated skills and proficiency in operation and performance of pipe organ and piano
- Demonstrated sight reading and improvisational skills
- Experience leading music in worship and the ability to choose musical preludes and postludes appropriate to worship experience
- Demonstrated ability to accompany choirs, soloists, or other musical ensembles
- Must exhibit a high level of professionalism and proficiency in all kinds of music and performance
- Willingness to explore different forms of music for use in worship
- This person must work well with multiple staff and those in the music program
- Background check devoid of any child abuse related arrests, convictions, or disciplinary actions
- Clean pre-employment drug screen
Specific Job Responsibilities:
- To provide quality musical accompaniment to worship experiences at Calvary
- Play pipe organ for traditional weekly Sunday worship services & seasonal special worship services.
- Provide piano accompaniment in these services when indicated.
- Be available to play pipe organ or piano as indicated for weddings and funerals
- To practice as needed to ensure consistent, quality performances
- Be available to meet on a regular basis, in person, with the Director of Music Ministries
- Contribute to creating and maintaining a cooperative and caring work environment
- While performing the job duties above and interacting with staff, children, youth, parents, members, and visitors, represent Calvary with a manner and attitude that reflects a personal and spiritual calling to serve in God’s church
- Adhere to Calvary’s personnel policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as agreed upon with Director of Music Ministries
