The General Commission on Religion and Race (GCORR) invites inquiries and applications for the position of Senior Accounting Coordinator. This role is responsible for the accurate, day-to-day financial transaction processing of the agency and supports the integrity and effectiveness of GCORR’s financial operations.

En Senior Accounting Coordinator manages accounts payable and receivable, maintains bookkeeping records for income, donations, and program funds, and ensures the integrity of financial data. This role supports strong financial operations by maintaining internal controls, producing accurate financial records, and ensuring timely and compliant financial processes.

Responsabilidades clave:

  • Maintain accurate bookkeeping records for: Contracts, resource-generated income, donations and contributions, and program-specific funds (including Disability Ministries Committee programs).
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Record, categorize, and reconcile financial transactions in accordance with organizational policies.
  • Create, distribute, record, and track invoices for the sale of organizational resources.
  • Maintain organized and complete financial documentation to support audits, reviews, and reporting (e.g., project expense tracking).
  • Support adherence to internal controls, accounting procedures, and compliance requirements.

Cualificaciones:

  • Associate degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or finance support.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and nonprofit accounting principles.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with finance leadership.
  • Experience with NetSuite preferred.
  • This position is located in Washington, DC but can be negotiated to be remote.
