앞으로 나아갈 길: 불확실한 시대에 대한 희망 주일 예배

8월 30

Churches United for Racial Equity and Justice (CUREJ), an ecumenical movement that began through Brentwood UMC’s Race & Faith initiative, invites the community into a transformative weekend of learning, worship, and action. A Way Forward: Hope for Uncertain Times will gather clergy, students, and community members across Middle Tennessee to explore faithful responses to racial justice through the lens of the Beloved Community.

Held at Woodmont Hills Church, the weekend will feature nationally recognized author and speaker Dr. Jemar Tisby, who will guide participants in envisioning a more just and hopeful future grounded in faith. The event begins Friday evening with a worshipful gathering focused on understanding the challenges we face and imagining a global perspective for change, supported by music and interactive prayer experiences.

Saturday will offer deeper engagement through a panel discussion with Dr. Tisby and local leaders, followed by breakout sessions highlighting nonviolence, community-based justice work, and practical pathways for advocacy and reconciliation.

The weekend concludes with Sunday worship at Gordon Memorial UMC, where Dr. Tisby will preach, and congregations are invited to carry this work forward using shared liturgical resources.

In addition to the main event, participants are invited into meaningful pre- and post-event opportunities, including clergy preparation, student engagement, book studies, and ongoing small group connections.

This is more than a weekend gathering. It is an invitation to grow in faith, deepen relationships, and take faithful steps toward justice together.
