In 2024, the TWK Conference adopted a resolution recognizing May 5 as a Day of Prayer for MMIW. This national observance, begun in 2017, raises awareness of the crisis of missing and murdered Indigenous women, children, and now all persons (MMIP).

Congregations and individuals are encouraged to lift up prayers and remember the ongoing trauma faced by Native communities. Tribes across the Southeast continue vital efforts to address and prevent these tragedies.
