JOB DESCRIPTION
The Program Manager provides a year-round, welcoming, trauma-informed environment for young adults (we are LGBTQ+ affirming) experiencing homelessness.The Program Manager assists in offering leadership to Nashville Launch Pad’s three programs: Emergency Shelter, ISLP, and MHNC. Supporting the Emergency Shelter season (October-April), and our regular programs, they will work alongside the Program Director to manage staff, oversee guests in shelter, support volunteers, and ensure Launch Pad programs are running smoothly.
PROGRAM DESCRIPTIONS
Emergency Shelter – Seasonal overnight program operating November 1 through April 1 each year. Capacity of about 20 young adults each night, ages 18-26, in partnership with local churches. Hot meal, shower, mattress, linens, first aid, and additional supplies provided.
Mobile Housing Navigation Center – Single grant funded, this 24/7 year-round program offers staffed transitional housing and resource navigation for up to 12 young adults, ages 18-24. Must be experiencing literal homelessness and referred from the city’s Homelessness Management Information System (HMIS).
Independent Supported Living Program – Transitional housing for ages 18-26. Up to three guests share a 3 bedroom apartment, free of charge for up to 6 months while working to stabilize and establish permanent housing. Highly independent program requiring residents to live in a self-sufficient manner providing their own food, transportation, and case management.

STAFF SUPERVISION
✦ Supervise Emergency Shelter staff
✦ Assist the Program Director with supervision of Mobile Housing staff.
✦ Assist with interviewing and hiring of seasonal staff
✦ Assist with Staff scheduling and timesheet oversight
✦ Utilizes scheduling and project management tools to manage shift coverage and communication across all programs
✦ Be the program leader on-call 2-3 nights per week
PROGRAM MANAGEMENT & DATA REPORTING
✦ Ensures implementation of and adherence to agency policies and procedures
✦ Suggests policy and procedure improvements as needed
✦ Shares on-site supervision responsibility including crisis intervention with other staff
✦ Protects guest/resident and data confidentiality
✦ Assist in maintaining quality census, demographic, and other data in HMIS and Salesforce
✦ Track supply inventory and assist in transporting and delivering supplies as needed
PROGRAM RESPONSIBILITIES
Emergency Shelter (seasonal)
✦ Function as the primary coordinator of the Emergency Shelter
✦ Supervise the seasonal Program Coordinator
✦ Work in the emergency shelter 4 evenings a week, this includes some weekend shifts
✦ Some coverage of evenings and/or overnight may be required depending on staffing schedules
✦ Take lead on high level behavior management alongside Program Director
✦ Plan and facilitate Emergency Shelter staff meetings in collaboration with Program Director
✦ Supervise Emergency Shelter staff, including periodic evaluations
✦ Provide an excellent experience for volunteers, improving based on collected feedback
✦ Engage guests who are dealing with complicated emotions and behavior regarding previous trauma
✦ Share in collaborative coverage of holidays and inclement weather response.
Mobile Housing Navigation Center (MHNC)
✦ Provide additional shift coverage as needed
✦ Assist Program Director in developing best practices
✦ Assist with MHNC staff supervision in the absence of the Program Director
✦ Attend and participate in staff meetings
✦ Outside of Emergency Shelter season, duties will increase in the MHNC. During Emergency Shelter season duties will decrease in MHNC.
Independent Supported Living Program (ISLP)
✦ Assist with weekly resident check in duties as needed
✦ Assist with other needs as might be necessary
✦ Assist residents with unique needs based on their experience
EXTERNAL COLLABORATIONS
Professionally represent the agency appropriately at relevant meetings and events.
Identify, build and maintain professional working relationships with all community partners including volunteers and representatives from partner agencies.
QUALIFICATIONS
✦ Bachelor’s Degree preferred; 2-3 years of relevant experience required
✦ Previous leadership and team management experience is required
✦ Experience working with vulnerable populations, especially 18-26 year olds or people experiencing homelessness, is preferredLGBTQ+ individuals, people of color, and individuals with lived experience of housing instability strongly encouraged to apply
✦ Ability to maintain confidentiality, take initiative, and manage conflict
✦ Be culturally sensitive, team focused, and collaborative
✦ Be a competent professional with excellent interpersonal communication skills and able to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
✦ Ability to proficiently use a computer
✦ Team player with strong decision-making skills
✦ Strong sense of boundaries to keep relationships with guests and staff professional, safe, and healthy
✦ Ability to clearly and objectively document information
✦ Access to reliable transportation for the transportation of donations of supplies or food
✦ Pass a background check and drug screen
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
✦ Lift or move materials with various weights up to 30 lbs
✦ Travel throughout the community to participate in job sanctioned activities
✦ Move, sit, or stand for extended periods of time
✦ Speak concisely, hear, sit, stand, walk, reach, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch
✦ Tolerance of extreme noise levels; work environment noise varies
