Mt. Pisgah Remembers Visit from President Carter

January 9, 2025

Former President Jimmy Carter is fondly remembered by the members of Mt. Pisgah UMC in Davidson County.

Maggie Dunlap (deceased), a member of Mt. Pisgah, played a key role in bringing President Carter to the church in 1991 to attend the J. E. Turner Memorial Scholarship Ceremony through her connection with entertainer Tom T. Hall.

President Carter was accompanied by Former First Lady Rosalynn Carter, Tom T. Hall, and Dixie Hall.

Church members recall President Carter’s warm, genuine, down-to-earth spirit as he shared in this worship experience and fellowship. One member shared memories of the warm embrace she received from Rosalynn Carter.

This visit will always be a “remember when” moment for Mt. Pisgah. Our condolences, prayers, and love are extended to the family of President Jimmy Carter.

Rev. Marie C. King, Pastor
Mt. Pisgah UMC (Davidson County)
