The Anti-Racism Coalition of TWK, Signposts, the Memphis Presbytery and a number of Memphis Churches are sponsoring a three day Memphis Justice Pilgrimage on September 24 through September 26 titled “Wisdom Then and Now: The Importance of Racial Justice and Beloved Community in Troubled Times.”
We will visit Stax, the Ida B. Wells Plaza, The Ernest Withers photography display on Beale Street and one or two lynching sites. In the evenings we’ll have music by Centenary musicians, drama by “Playback Memphis” and community building fellowship – all essential for sustaining movements for racial justice and healing.
Catherine Meeks, author, past director and founder of The Absalom Jones Center for Racial Healing in Atlanta, will be the featured speaker/leader for this Pilgrimage. Centenary UMC will be the host church.
