Fusion: Worship Music Conference is a weekend workshop designed to empower United Methodist pastors, musicians, and worship leaders to create vibrant, contemporary worship experiences rooted in Wesleyan theology. Hosted by Discipleship Ministries in partnership with The Institute for Modern Worship, this event responds to a growing need for practical guidance in blending modern and traditional worship styles within the United Methodist context.
At its heart, Fusion celebrates the intersection—the fusion—of tradition and modern worship styles. Participants will explore how modern worship can flourish within a Wesleyan theological framework, discovering creative ways to integrate contemporary music, liturgy, and technology while honoring the richness of Methodist heritage.
This hands-on conference features plenary sessions, shared worship experiences, and breakout workshops focused on foundational worship leadership skills, inclusivity, and creativity. Designed especially for small and medium-sized churches, including rural congregations, Fusion offers a practical “toolbox” of songs, liturgical ideas, and leadership strategies to take home and implement right away.
Plenary topics include: The Future of Worship, Bridging Traditional and Contemporary Worship, Challenges and Solutions in Contemporary Worship and Engaging Your Congregation for the Future
Leaders include: Rev. Dr. Nelson Cowan, Rev. Dr. DeAndre Johnson, Kiersten Rose and Jeremy Hearn from The Institute for Modern Worship, Rev. Jackson Henry, Rev. Maggie Taylor, Dr. Matt Webb and Dr. Diana Sanchez-Bushong
