Prayer Concerns

Prayer Concerns messages about the illness or death of serving and retired TWKUMC clergy and staff and their immediate family members are sent out conference-wide at the end of each week, as needed. This includes all of the requests submitted during the previous week.

Reed
Please join us in prayer for the family of Rev. George Lee Reed, retired associate member of the legacy Memphis Conference, who died on November 10, 2025.

Keller
Please be in prayer for Rev. Jack Keller, retired local pastor, in the death of his 101-year-old mother, Bernice Keller, on November 11, 2025, in Seattle, WA. Mrs. Keller was also the mother-in-law of retired elder, Rev. Cherie Parker. A celebration of her life will take place at a later time.

Carney
Please be in prayer for the family of Rev. John “Jack” Vernon Carney, Jr., who died on October 27, 2025. Rev. Carney served as a local pastor for 50 years, serving rural United Methodist churches in Bedford, Coffee, Moore, and Marshall counties.

Miller
Please pray for the family and friends of Rev. William J. “Bill” Miller, who died on October 15, 2025,  at the age of 90. Rev. Miller served at Discipleship Ministries and then pastored with Brentwood UMC, West End UMC, and Christ UMC before his retirement in 2001. .

Holt
Please be in prayer for Rev. John Holt and family on the death of his wife, Robbie Sue Ferguson Holt, on October 15, 2025. Robbie faithfully served as a pastor’s wife in the Memphis Conference for 38 years.

Pullias
Please be in prayer for the family of Ken Pullias, pastor of Sorrells Chapel United Methodist Church in Dyer County, TN, who died on October 9, 2025. Ken faithfully served as a Certified Lay Minister to Sorrells Chapel UMC for the past six years and preached there just two weeks ago.
