The Opportunity:
We are seeking a visionary and relational Executive Director to lead the McKendree Daycare. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, early childhood education expertise, and a passion for shaping young lives.
Grounded in the Reggio Emilia approach, our daycare celebrates the creativity and potential of every child. We are looking for a leader who can inspire staff, partner with families, and guide the program toward continued excellence and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide visionary leadership and spiritual direction for the McKendree Daycare.
- Oversee daily operations, staffing, curriculum implementation, and program evaluation.
- Coach, mentor, and guide staff in Reggio-inspired teaching and learning practices.
- Ensure compliance with all state licensing and accreditation standards.
- Partner with families to build a welcoming, inclusive, and Christ-centered community.
- Manage budgeting, financial reporting, and administrative processes with integrity.
- Collaborate closely with the Senior Pastor, church leadership, and parent committee to align organizational goals.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education Administration, Business Administration, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of five years of progressive leadership in early childhood education or nonprofit administration, including two years in a director-level role.
- Knowledge & Skills:
- Strong understanding of child development principles and Reggio-inspired best practices.
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team of educators.
- Familiarity with state childcare licensing and accreditation standards.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Financial management and budgeting experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and childcare management software.
Physical and Work Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs., assist in emergencies, and move throughout daycare facilities as needed.
- Work primarily in an office and childcare environment.
