The Opportunity:
We are seeking a visionary and relational Executive Director to lead the McKendree Daycare. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, early childhood education expertise, and a passion for shaping young lives.

Grounded in the Reggio Emilia approach, our daycare celebrates the creativity and potential of every child. We are looking for a leader who can inspire staff, partner with families, and guide the program toward continued excellence and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide visionary leadership and spiritual direction for the McKendree Daycare.
• Oversee daily operations, staffing, curriculum implementation, and program evaluation.
• Coach, mentor, and guide staff in Reggio-inspired teaching and learning practices.
• Ensure compliance with all state licensing and accreditation standards.
• Partner with families to build a welcoming, inclusive, and Christ-centered community.
• Manage budgeting, financial reporting, and administrative processes with integrity.
• Collaborate closely with the Senior Pastor, church leadership, and parent committee to align organizational goals.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education Administration, Business Administration, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of five years of progressive leadership in early childhood education or nonprofit administration, including two years in a director-level role.
• Knowledge & Skills:
  • Strong understanding of child development principles and Reggio-inspired best practices.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team of educators.
  • Familiarity with state childcare licensing and accreditation standards.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Financial management and budgeting experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and childcare management software.

Physical and Work Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs., assist in emergencies, and move throughout daycare facilities as needed.
• Work primarily in an office and childcare environment.
