To encourage leaders and congregations to lean into the Tennessee-Western Kentucky Conference’s Discipleship Priority of Disrupting & Dismantling Racism & Discrimination, the TWK Anti-Racism Coalition is offering grants to United Methodist local churches, ministry teams, small groups, Sunday School Classes, youth groups, and Campus Ministries for Racial Justice / Racial Healing initiatives.
Grants are available for up to $500 (additional funds can be made available on a case-by-case basis).
Grants could include funding for small group studies on race and racism, including Signposts Groups; establishing a Race and Faith Team in your Local Church; speakers and events related to racial justice, anti-racism, or racial healing; pilgrimages and activities exploring the history of racism in the church and local Civil Rights history.
You are encouraged to use your creative and imaginative skills to develop an Ant-Racism initiative relevant to your local context.
