April 2025

A new cohort of United Methodists from across the connection will be working together for the coming year to address the need for a more nuanced and missionally focused approach to evaluating the fruitfulness of United Methodist congregations. For too long, we’ve only measured church success by attendance, membership, and finances, which are metrics that don’t tell the whole story or inform future potential. This initiative aims to develop qualitative and quantitative metrics that align more closely with current church priorities and are adaptable to a wide variety of church contexts.

TWK Faith & Innovation has the following team participating in the Mission Metrics Cohort:

  • Courtney Lawson, TWK Staff Connectional Ministries / Faith & Innovation
  • Kristin Clark-Banks, Clergy, Forrest Hills UMC / Faith & Innovation team member / Thriving Congregations
  • Erin Beasley, Clergy, The VINE UMC / Faith & Innovation funded church plant
  • Tom Fuerst, Clergy, Memphis FUMC / Faith & Innovation funded church plant/merger
  • Jefferson Furtado, Clergy Hilldale UMC / Cohort DS – Board of Ministry
  • Amy Moritz, Faith & Innovation team member / Thriving Congregations / Connection MAP creator
