Job Title: Director of Discipleship and Faith Formation

Location: Florence, Alabama

Description:
First United Methodist Church of Florence, AL, seeks a creative and compassionate Director of Discipleship and Faith Formation. This position will design and lead a comprehensive discipleship pathway for all ages, empowering volunteers and collaborating with staff to nurture faith from childhood through senior adulthood. The ideal candidate will have gifts for teaching, preaching, and team building and be rooted in Wesleyan/Arminian theology. Experience in ministry leadership and digital communication is a plus. College or seminary education is preferred but not required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and coordinate discipleship ministries for all ages.
• Recruit, train, and support volunteers.
• Collaborate with staff and support families.
• Teach, preach, and lead worship as needed.
• Communicate effectively across platforms.

Position Type: Full-time, in-person (on-site at First United Methodist Church, Florence, AL).

Compensation: Competitive salary, commensurate with experience and education

Relocation: Candidates must be able to commute to or relocate to Florence, AL, prior to start date.
