The Urban Cohort District in partnership with “Tennessee Kids Belong” will host a virtual Zoom meeting on Thursday, April 18 from 6:30-8:30 PM to explore how the Faith Community can support families that are caring for children in the Foster and kinship placement programs in Tennessee. Foster, and especially Kinship placement families need extra support and encouragement as they provide care for children and youth that are displaced from their biological families. This meeting is to help us determine how the Faith Community can enter into relationships with these families on a personal and local level to offer love, support, and encouragement.
We are asking each church in the TWK Conference to consider having at least one clergy and/or layperson attend this Zoom meeting to see where we can help care for this marginalized portion of society. If you have questions, please contact Rev. Jim Melrose, jim.melrose@twkumc.org or 615-504-2297.
