By Russell Casteel, Executive Director, Cedar Crest Camp & Retreat Center

Methodist Nomads On a Mission Active in Divine Service (NOMADS) spent the last three weeks at Cedar Crest helping complete several projects to support camp and retreat ministry. They helped create a new sidewalk, completed a new deck, new landscaping, and installed new doors at Cecil Lodge. In addition they stained porches, worked on landscaping, installed and insulated a ceiling in the cabins’ laundry room, repaired the sidewalk at Nickell, and installed new light fixtures in the dining hall kitchen.

This team of 6 RVers ranged from full timers to residents of Pennsylvania, Alabama, and Texas. Project leader Gary Hatcher shared, “We love coming to Cedar Crest because we see the growth from year to year, and every camper and guest we see experiencing God here. It’s why so many of us want to come back to serve.”

NOMADS have served all TWK Conference camp and retreat ministry for many years. Beersheba Springs, Cedar Crest, and Lakeshore mark their partnership as a significant strength in caring for deferred maintenance, investing in camp infrastructure, and working through disaster relief.
