We receive inquiries about what items impacted families need after a disaster. While they will need many things, it will vary greatly from community to community and family to family. That is why we partner with groups better able to meet those needs.

TWKUMC is a relief and recovery partner of state and regional VOADs (Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster). In these relationships, we coordinate response and recovery efforts to reduce duplication and waste of donated goods, services, and funding.

Tennessee Emergency Management Agency (TEMA) has asked that we limit unsolicited material donations. Monetary donations are the most effective way to provide the exact need at the right time without overwhelming a community to manage donated goods.

There are corporations and donations management partners that ensure that communities have what is needed and that help coordinate the delivery of those goods. The Community Resource Center is one of our strongest partners when it comes to donations management. They maintain a list of most needed items and a way for you to contribute by ordering from the Disaster 2023 Needs wishlist on Amazon.

Financial donations can be made to TWK Disaster Response online or by mailing a check. More information: https://twkumc.org/donate/

Thank you for your support of disaster response and recovery efforts!
