“We oppose the death penalty (capital punishment) and urge its elimination from all criminal codes.” (Social Principles ¶164.G).
There have been no executions in Kentucky since 2008 and only three since 1976. Unfortunately, the first step toward restarting executions in Kentucky has begun. The Kentucky Department of Corrections is updating its execution protocol and has opened a public comment period that ends July 31.
Please consider providing written comments to the Kentucky Department of Corrections. You DO NOT need to be a citizen of Kentucky to provide written comment. Here is an easy way to take action to stop executions from resuming in Kentucky.
